Give a gift that counts!
If you are looking for a gift to post or carry back with you from Bodrum,
the 'Secrets of the Turkish Kitchen' Calendar 2009 is the ideal gift.
The calendar is in English, with a recipe a month per page from November 2008 through to December 2009, with space for daily notes, and well worth keeping for the simple seasonal recipes of Turkey. It is a perfect gift!
Price 20 YTL each (or bulk price available). Envelopes included.
At the same time support the children of Mugla Childrens Home and Orphanage as ALL proceeds after the costs (approx 50%) from the calendar sales will be donated for their needs.
Mugla Childrens Home and Orphanage is a residential care unit for children from distressed families, orphans, or in at least one case - rescued from abusive parents. (There are separate units for disabled and handicapped children in the province)
The Home is in good physical condition, with small group dormitories for younger children, and twin shared rooms for older girls in a separate 'Mugla House'. Currently there are 64 children there. A new Block for babies and toddlers under construction is expected to open in February, and will need a large amount of support to equal the conditions of the rest of the home. The community in Mugla, and province has been supporting this home for many years with regular and sustained donations of new goods, furnishings, clothes, work and materials. The international residents have been part of that effort.
(What Fergie doesn't know...)
Community support in this province works- lets keep it working!
